Best Speed Reading Book… Speed Reading by Henry Mckinnon
Today I will be presenting what I believe to be the best speed reading book online. This, along with the Top 5 Most Important Financial Skills, makeup a big part of essential skills for personal growth and success.
Let’s be honest, unless we regularly work on something, our abilities often decrease in efficiency.
A year ago, I may have been amazingly proficient at Geometry, but after not practicing for such an extended period, my skills would be no doubt “rusty”.
This is very similar to how our reading speed decreases after time. That is why I decided to write a full review on a book that I believe can help anyone achieve faster reading speed!
With that, lets get into why I believe this is the best speed reading book out there right now.
- Average Customer Rank: 4.0/5

Best Speed Reading Book… Myth Buster
Here are some common myth about reading: “Reading once is enough”.
“I read proficiently in High School or College, so there is no way my reading skills have decreased or that my comprehension has gone down, right?”
Recent studies show that average reading speeds decrease tremendously after standard education, and that they are nowhere near what they used to be. Here is a search result you can pull up in Google:
This is being generous! 200 wpm would actually be an accomplishment by some standards.
One article had this to say, “… the average reading speed is about 50-75 words per minute.”
Most attribute this to a lack in good education, but I think it has more to do with how we read.
If we aren’t keeping our abilities up we are going to lose them eventually. Some would say you can never become illiterate, but I would argue that if something can be attained, it can be lost just the same.
Muscle memory is one thing, being able to read quickly so your mind isn’t wandering as you are reading is another.
Wouldn’t it be great to be able to read something fast and efficiently! How many novels and great books could you read and not be hindered by time or page length?
I love reading, but hate wasting time.
I think I’ve made my point, our reading abilities have decreased significantly!
Faster Reading = Faster Growth
While one could argue that there are many ways to improve one’s reading, I think it becomes quite clear that a book at this price is extremely affordable and convenient to get started.
The reviews on this book are great, with most praising it’s information and easy-to-apply instructions.
Most other books on Amazon share similar reviews, but this book seems more level-headed if you will. Others claim that you can see results in a day, and while that may be true, that is not what these books are designed for.
Information takes time to process, and Henry is very open when he presents his information.Combining guidelines and techniques to build good habits and root out the bad ones.
What amazes me is how many people wait to take action on something like this. “Oh, wow, a great book that will help me improve my reading, yeah, I think I’ll buy that in a couple months…or years.”
What the heck is that!?
Why are we waiting to take action when we have the ability to improve now? Information is so easy to attain today, but we have a lack of enthusiasm when it comes to self-improvement and become better.
Breaking Down Old Habits
One thing that most people said amazed them about the book was it’s ability to expose people’s bad habits in terms of reading speed, and how those habits had to be removed prior to rebuilding productive habits.
Unless you look in the mirror or have outside influence, it’s more difficult to spot anything wrong with oneself.
I know this is very true for me personally. I don’t see something wrong until there are consequences or someone else points it out for me. Reading a book is a great way of getting that outside perspective that I can’t get on my own.
That’s not to say I advocate someone verbally harasses you based on your imperfections, however, being coached or given advice can make an enormous difference in terms of self-improvement! I know that this has been true for me!
The Real Benefit
The real benefit though, is not the numbers. It is nice to be able to show off how fast you can read, but that is not the true value of this book. The true value of this book lies in it’s ability to help you absorb information and take it in faster!
What good is having helpful books but not enough time to read them? Is it wise having valuable information at your fingertips, but always staying right there, at your fingertips?
What I like about this book is that it only takes a week to get rolling. That might sound like it will take forever, but remember, this is a book about increasing your reading speed, you are only going to go faster and faster as you progress!
Don’t take my word for it, check out this reviews on Amazon and see for yourself as to how many people like this book and how it has helped them! On Amazon.
It would be easy to end it on that note, but I think there are some other things that I need to address as well.
So many times we read articles, helpful information online, or buy books we believe will help us, but we don’t take action! I know this applies to me in many ways because I think “I know that”.
Did you know that is the biggest killer of people’s success in life, saying “I know that”?
Let’s overcome that habit and start taking action when we say we are going to. Chances are you are here because you want to have faster reading and better comprehension! We share the same passions!
There are so many benefits to having faster reading, here are just a few:
- Less time spent on reading
- More information taken in and remembered
- More confidence in your abilities
- Financial security becomes far easier with skills like this
- No more anxious brain thinking about other things while reading
These are just a few, and they differ depending on how you progress and improve!
