People will do a lot to avoid the truth. The truth about making money is no exception. Today I will be discussing 5 hard hitting facts about making money that the poor don’t want to hear! The Truth About Making Money - Not Listening!

I would just like to say off the bat, that this post is by no means an insult to the amount of money you have or the job you work at.

This post is directly in relation to the “poor” mindset and habits that many people hold today.

True wealth cannot be measured in the amount of financial prosperity that is achieved. It is measured by the abilities and thought process people hold.

It’s the same reason why you could take all the money from a person like Robert Kiyosaki or Warren Buffet, and they would have it all back in a matter of years. The “wealthy” aren’t defined by their money, they are defined by who they are.

I will be discussing ways to take immediate action at the end of this article, be sure to check that out!

With that, let’s get right into this.

5 Hard Hitting Facts The Poor Don’t Want To Hear:

1.People Are Poor Because They Are Lazy

I’ve talked on this before, but I think it bears repeating. People, including myself, have a tendency to be lazy! If there was one thing I would change in my habits, I would like to always be doing what I’m supposed to and to never be passive.

What I mean by being “passive” is that I’m inactive. I’m not moving forward. This actually leads to “backsliding” in most cases.

Life is very much like a moving floor or escalator. If you aren’t moving, you are automatically moving in the opposite direction.

Things are always breaking down or deteriorating in life. If I want my car’s engine to function properly, I must have it serviced and maintained. I must take actions to repair or restore it. Otherwise, it eventually breaks down.

Business & Making Money Automatically Break Down

Ever started a business, or started working out? Then you already know what I mean here. Because things break down and reverse in nature, it creates a universal law that warrants constant action.

If you don’t keep working on your business or personal fitness, you will automatically start back peddling. This is also why people struggle with getting rich. They don’t see results immediately, and give up before they see a harvest.

Fitness is the same way, and many areas of life are this way too.

2. The “Poor” Don’t Manage Their Money Well, It’s Like A Video Game

“How you do anything is how you do everything.” – T. Harv EkerThe Truth About Making Money - Like A Video Game

If you can’t manage $100 dollars, you aren’t going to be able to manage $10,000. The principle of predictability comes into play here. If you want to start making more money, you have to be at that level of responsibility.

Think of it like you do a video game. If you have ever played a “Role Playing Game”, you will often be assigned a “Player Level”. This indicates how progressed or experienced you are in-game.

If you find an item that is level 30, but you are only level 12, the game will Not allow you to use it because you are not at that level of experience yet.

This is not a sign of shame nor does it warrant embarrassment, you simply don’t have the capability to utilize the item you have found. Money is no different, except you can be given a lot of it and wind up worsening your state.

3. People Don’t Know What They Want

There is a common saying, “Energy Attracts”. If you have a desire for something, you have just stuck a magnet on your body and are now “attracting” what you want. The Truth About Making Money - Stressed & Uncertain

It took me a while to realize how my desires and thoughts create a pull on what I want. What may surprise you however, is that most people don’t even know what they want!

The false belief that “it takes money to make money”, is actually one that has spread to every area of life. If you require something to have something else, you are now stuck.

To you, you can never even know what you want because you need a luxurious lifestyle to figure that out!

People Think They Have To Get Rich Before They Can Do What They Want

This is one of the biggest issues people are unknowingly facing today, “uncertainty”. If you go to college just for the degree, you are robbing yourself years of youth and ability you will never get back.

If that’s you today, I strongly encourage you to sit down and evaluate what you want for your life! College is not the answer to achieving your goals. There are plenty of millionaires and rich people who never finished College.

You don’t need great wealth to find out what you want to do with your life! There are many ways to sample different activities and lifestyles with very little money!

If you want to go fishing for the rest of your life, don’t need incredible riches to do so, there are many ways to support that lifestyle. You don’t need money to be happy, and money doesn’t buy happiness!

4. If You Want To Achieve Wealth, You Must Be Good At Sales

This is another topic that makes people cringe. Think about some of the greatest corporate giants today:The Truth About Making Money - Sales

Amazon, Walmart, Ebay, Google, Apple, Microsoft, Disney, and the many other well-known brands out there.

All of these have one thing in common… They are incredible at Sales. Their advertising is often perfectly phrased or timed, their branding is instantly recognizable, and they are usually reputable.

You could have the best products, information and talents, but if no one knows about them, they make you $0 dollars and $0 cents.

Being able to make a sale is not optional if you are going to become wealthy, it is mandatory. Even if you invest in stocks, you will need a business or some kind of passive income to support you when you stop! These things require sales.

5. Most People Aren’t Stupid, But They Think They Are!

Let me be blunt here, people are not stupid! We have a society today that doesn’t have a bunch of idiots walking around, we have uninformed or misinformed individuals who unwittingly or knowingly believe lies.

These lies range from false information about others to lies told about us or told by us about ourselves.

If someone is stupid, I imagine that they have some kind of physical or psychological ailment that prohibits their ability to process information logically and correctly. I would say that 90% of the populace around the globe don’t have this issue.

People aren’t stupid, they simply have false information. If you believe you will never be rich, that is only true for you because you believe it. It’s not verifiable information or “objective truths”.

  1. Thanks for this. I was really in a rut and needed some direction. Definitely going to explore the rest of your site and sign up for the mailing list. Definitely some things here I hadn’t thought of before. I’ll be back.

    • Glad my post was helpful for you, Brandon! I think you will find my training videos very helpful after signing up for the email list as well. I worked a lot on that training and I know it will help you in many ways.

    • Exactly, Tim. Life is filled with problems or obstacles that, while they may be physical, or 90% in your brain. The ability to succeed first starts internally. That being said, I also know that many people lack the integrity to maintain an ongoing habit of action or dedicated work to achieve their goals. That is another issue mainly in their heads. I wrote a through review on several fantastic books on the Top 5 Positive Mindset books. Definitely check that one out if you are interested.

  2. You have given much food for thought here. I have family members that are struggling financially, so I will definitely share these facts and hopefully we will have a real “money talk” discussion. I have no doubt that the point you make on sales will get my niece fired up. She wants to be a sales person, but needs that extra push. I think this post will do it for her. Is building a business online very costly? She is a recent high school grad. and wants to earn some money before going to college.

  3. Limiting beliefs, I would say, are one of the most common yet detrimental issues stopping people from achieving their goals. You will simply never be financially successful if you are in the mindset of someone who is always poor, always in debt, always behind. Change how you think and you will start living your dream, because what you put out there, you will get in return!

    • Sadly, you are correct. Many people are limiting themselves. But what I am reminded of regularly is: “Am I so different?”. Sure I have come a long way, but I still catch myself doing something that isn’t supportive to my success and or building me up in my life. I am reminded that people are intelligent, but are often creatures of habit.

  4. Hey Jacob, I think we’ve created a false outlook on life brought on by misinformation, confusion advertising and overhyped lifestyles published through the media. Informing the truth about making money is usually classed as fake news nowadays.
Nothing in life is free and easy. Generating decent income can only be achieved by learning the correct methods and putting in continuous effort, however, the negativity that’s brought on by many friends and family members around us holds us back, making us feel negative about ourselves. In the main, most of us think we’re not good enough to make a wondrous lifestyle for ourselves.
I agree, Wealthy Affiliate is a genuine way to change things,
    Simon.

  5. Hi Jacob, fine article here. You are absolutely correct about sales. It’s absolutely a requirement for everyone to not just get wealthy, but to survive and eat! Everything is a sale! Great on you for sharing! You just sold me on posting this comment!

    • Hey, Evan, glad to hear you liked my article! I don’t usually like making posts that are so straight to the point because I think people can take what I say to mean that they are terrible people for having a related habit. But as I stated, even I struggle with being lazy at times. With time and practice I have been able to become less passive and more responsible. But it has taken help from my Life Makeover Coach and very good mindset resources.
