The top financial books I’ve selected are listed in order based off of a few factors: The most important being how they have impacted my life, the second being the quality of the information, and finally, how often I use the information I learned from them.Top Financial Books - Coffee & A Book

One could argue that this really isn’t a list of the most highly rated books out there, but rather a list of my favorite and most highly recommended books out there.

I’ve written other lists and other reviews on some of these books, so make sure to check those reviews out if you are looking for a more in depth look at the following books.

I hope after reading these books that they mean what they meant for me when I first read them. I hope I can meet every last one of these individuals in my lifetime.

Top Financial Books List:

1. Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not! – Robert T. Kiyosaki

  • Average Customer Rank: 4.6/5Top Financial Books - Rich Dad Poor Dad
  • Price: $12.55 Paperback

Easily my favorite book in the financial realm, not only does Robert cover some of the most relevant and important issues that we are facing today, but this book was my starting point when I began to learn about money in general.

Financial freedom became more than two fancy words to me, they became a lifestyle that I never realized could be achieved.

Once more, they became directly linked with Robert Kiyosaki the moment I began reading his books, and I don’t think I will ever look at money the same way ever again because of him!

2. Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth – T. Harv Eker

  • Average Customer Rank: 4.6/5Top Financial Books - Secrets of the Millionaire Mind
  • Price: $14.84 Paperback
  • Cheapest Place to Buy: Amazon.com

Did you know that the “T” in Harv’s name actually stands for “The“? That’s right, Harv’s legal name is “The Harv Eker”. His wife, knowing how Harv would feel depressed or unmotivated at times told him to have that addition made to his name to encourage him.

Harv has inspired so many people in terms of rooting out the mental obstacles that hinder our success and enjoyment in life.

Our greatest opponent in life really is ourselves, and Harv has made many amazing discoveries that have changed the lives of thousands.

This book really was the first time I was introduced to the “mental” or “internal” side of money. I credit much of my enjoyment in life to Harv’s teachings and God’s blessings, I highly recommend you pick up this book, it will change your life!

Maybe you are like me, you like to do things “my way“, and when someone tells you that you are programmed wrong, that comes off with a little friction doesn’t it?

Negativity Hits Everyone

For me, I think my upbringing has helped me adjust my mentality and habits faster than others, simply because I had a very supportive upbringing with a different focus on my education.

However, that doesn’t mean that I didn’t pick up doubts and bad habits along the way. I still catch myself being negative in my thoughts, or not supportive in my speech.

One of the greatest things I took away from his books, was a simple statement, “I Choose To Be Happy.
That statement was such a difficult one for me to wrap my head around. “I choose to be happy?” I used to think about this statement and really never understood it until I got older.

More and more my circumstances didn’t generate the same feelings like they did before.

There have been so many shortcomings, mistakes, and bad ideas that when I think about where I am now, it’s because of that statement that I’m not depressed sometimes. That, along with how God sees me. That’s always encouraging.

3. Rich Dad’s Cashflow Quadrant: Rich Dad’s Guide to Financial Freedom – Robert T. Kiyosaki

  • Average Customer Rank: 4.6/5Top Financial Books - Cashflow Quadrant
  • Price: $12.23 Paperback
  • Cheapest Place to Buy: Amazon.com
  • Available in: Paperback

I didn’t want to list another book by Robert since I think it is already quite apparent that I hold a high opinion of him, but this book deserves this spot for several good reasons.

This book does the amazing job of braking down how money flows, between the working classes and expounds on what it means to work in each of them.

Seeing employees, self-employed individuals, business owners or investors, all compared to each other in terms of their pros and cons, creates a real eye-opener.

The implications that Robert gives when talking about each of these “quadrants” really drives his point home. “Do I want to be financially free?”, “Do I want to work at a job my whole life?”.
