A quick search online brings up the following definition:

What I find very interesting is the use of the word “awareness”. The very definition of our “subconscious” indicates that it is composed or made up of an awareness.

My question is, what are we aware of and how does that affect our thoughts?

People seem to think everything in their body is connected as long as you are physically or mentally aware of it, but I really don’t believe that is true. It’s like our soul, we don’t see it, feel it and we don’t have a bodily function that goes with it, it’s just there.

If the unseen is as powerful as many of us will claim it to be, doesn’t it make sense to spend some time using it for our benefit?

How Can Your Subconscious Mind Bring Success?

We are truly astounding creations! We have the ability to process information on a level that we aren’t even aware of since this brain ability literally uses our awareness to function.

The idea that we are going to make tons of money and become financially free without first changing our own lifestyle and thoughts will only bring disaster! If I can’t handle $100 dollar, how am I going to handle $10,000?

If my subconscious is only aware of my flaws and inability, then when I make the money, it is only going to sabotage my efforts!

I think I’ve said it before, but money, power and influence only make my problems, or my positive situations bigger. Meaning I could be in a better or worse state than I was previously. Yikes!

If our subconscious can tell us negative things, then it can also tell us positive things. We want it to tell us positive things and help us achieve our goals! The problem is what we are programming our subconscious with.

Can You Really Change Your Inner Thoughts?

If our subconscious is an awareness, then it is constantly taking in information and storing it. I think that brings me to the following conclusion: “Our subconscious mind is completely programmable!”

The question is, “How?”

I get home, full of amazing information and ready to change my life… but then that small voice kicks in.

“But, Jacob,” I hear you saying, “How does that help when my subconscious is telling me such negative things?”

  2. You raised so many important points as regards to the power of the subconscious mind. Many of us often underestimate the power of the mind because we are not aware that it is our mind that dictates how we live our lives and react to certain situations.

    I personally believe in the saying that “you are what you think you are.” In other words, anyone has the potential to either succeed or fail, depending on their way of thinking. And that is why it is very important to have the right mindset. But as you mentioned in your article, we can actually reprogram our inner thoughts so it will line up with how we really want our life to be.

    By the way, you mentioned having a life makeover coach to help you reprogram your subconscious mind, how does this actually work? And how long do you need one to guarantee you of success?

    • That depends on your goals! Having a Life Makeover Coach is something that can take a month to a year. It really depends on what you want to see happen in your life.   3. I love this. After reading this, it made me want to reassess the way I think and the actions that follow. I am totally guilty of letting my negative thoughts overcome my actions. However, I always bounce back, because I know what my goals in life are — and those goals don’t include continuing to struggle.

    Oh yes, the subconcious mind! The beast part of use that likes to think in generalities and realm to the ego. The ego, as I understand, is just an idea of what we would like to be instead of what we are.

    This shadow version of us thinks it is us and thinks it is sentient. Its the little voice “Yes, do it!”. And WHY did do “Why the heck did you do that for!! IDIOT!!”

    LOL! It does not think long term and is the true part of us that is the torment we may feel sometimes. It is cruel and vicious and makes us say heart breaking words to those who we care for.

    Think of the subconscious mind as though there is a Sentinel standing between your conscious mind and that part. Its job is to block suggestions, negative and positive, from getting through. Of course, many do slide on through.

    I could speak so much on this fascinating article on what is the powr of the subconscious mind and its secrets for guaranteed easy break through’s in life.

    However, while the subconscious mind appears to whip the person into fear servitude, there is a way to control this and turn it into an asset!!

    I have overcome debilitating and humiliating stuttering in my life. Overcome anxiety so bad I would go full blown panie attack for no good reason! Very serious and terrible way to live.

  5. The subconscious mind is indeed a powerful thing and its a shame we don’t understand it better. I’ve found meditation really helps me become aware of what’s going on in side my head. It may not be a direct path to the subconscious but it certainly helps calm down my conscious mind.

  8. I totally believe in the power of the mind, and am in the beginning stages of working out what that means for me.

    After totally bottoming out a couple of years ago, I believe that I am on the right path now. I am a big fan of Mirror Work (Louise Hay), EFT/tapping with Brad, and subliminals from Kelly Howell/BrainSync.

    It does take practice and repetition to change those hardwired beliefs, but there are so many awesomely successful people out there for mentors.
