Being brought up in a house of both rational and down to earth logic, I think it has been easy for me to put off the supernatural and spiritual side of my life in favor of meeting my physical and emotional needs. What Is The Power Of Visualization? - Man Looking Out A Window In Thought

That’s not to say that my emotions and health aren’t important, but that it has been easy for me to favor one thing compared to another because of the tangible results generated.

I don’t think I am the only one who would rather go for a run or do push ups than sit and meditate, or visualize my goals in life.

I hope to reveal the real value in visualization, and share why I think it cures failure better than most anything else today.

Let’s get right to it!

What Is The Power Of Visualization? Why Does It Matter?

Visualization can be compared to my imagination, but with a purpose. Imagination is the creation of something within the mind that utilizes creativity, visualization is the use of our imagination to give physical form to our emotions and desires.

It’s like trying to picture what a new computer will look like when it is delivered vs. creating an image of what it will be like when it comes and what you will do with that item.

You use your imagination for this, but you use it to simulate a situation, an accomplishment, a relationship, an acknowledgment, a future worth fighting for.

Both are related, but visualization specifically goes a bit deeper.

I look forward to the day when I will be financially free, and to the day I will be able to help even more people reach their goals! Quitting my job, buying the house, the car, and the shiny new toys that I want.

I see myself helping my children reach their goals and giving them my time and focus that I could never give working full time. I see my future wife, and the joy we will share knowing that I spent my youth and young adult life working to support her.

What do you see when you look into your future? What motivates you to work on you dreams? How do you feel when you think about these things? What joy or release do you experience?

Now you are visualizing.

To visualize mean to give form to more than an object, but to an experience. Let’s say I want to lose 10 pounds, I could visualize accomplishing my goal, what I will feel, how I will look, who will talk to me, how I will talk about my experience, and so forth.

By creating a visual experience with our imagination, we can create the ideal result. This is not fantasy, this is the use of our creativity to accomplish a goal.

To do this however, takes focus and patience. Sometimes our emotions can take away the clarity we desire. We want to know exactly how to do something but doubt or worry stops us from moving forward, this is not good.

Why Do I Need Visualization? What Kind Of Power Does It Have?

Without the use of visualization, the world would be filled with dreamers who never achieve anything. If they do accomplish something, it was usually by accident. They didn’t know what they wanted, but they did something, and they experienced the consequences.

I truly think this is a big reason why people commit crimes, they don’t know what they want and end up even more unsatisfied. Not to mention they are usually caught and sentenced.

Without clarity of what I want, without visualizing what I desire and looking ahead, what do I have to work towards? What purpose does my life serve if I have nothing to compare my life with?

The idea of living in greater affluence and success takes different forms for people, that is why people usually never accomplish their dreams, they didn’t know what accomplishing those dreams looked like.

I can’t really blame them though, I didn’t know any of this until I spent time really asking myself the tough questions and understanding myself. As a man, sometimes I wonder if my brain is more female since I don’t think I will ever fully understand it. 😉

How Visualization Cures

Boy this is a hard one to talk about for me. Failure, loss, depression, guilt, regret, condemnation… All of these things require different cures, but sometimes the remedy is understanding where I am going. What Is The Power Of Visualization? - Man Standing In Rough Terrain

When I think about feeling like a failure in life, it is usually because I have forgotten what I have accomplished, and because I have forgotten where I am going.

Not just going to Heaven, but where I want to be in the future.

People don’t aim to be poor, they aim to achieve money, power, and freedom. I know I do, and I’m sure you can relate. We aim for the ability to make our desires reality, and that is the true power of visualization.

Creating a clear understanding of what we want and what it will look like when we get it. That’s what this is about.

My Life Makeover Coach can’t strain this enough, clarity in life is crucial, and this often requires visualizing our dreams.

How You Can Start Visualizing Today

Visualization isn’t all that difficult, but it certainly takes time. There are many ways to utilize the power of visualization:

  • Write down what you want for your life. After creating your dreams, visualize them. Ask yourself what it will be like when you have accomplished those dreams, and hold onto that!

  • Spend 30 minutes with a writing exercise. Ask yourself a question, and don’t stop asking “why” to every one of your answers until you have reached your true, “why”. This could look like, “Why aren’t you managing your money?”, and you would proceed to answer, followed by asking, “why?” to your answer.

  • Use relaxing music for meditation. If you don’t have a clear vision of what you want, take the time to find out.

  • Make tangible goals that work towards your dreams, make them believable and achievable within a year. Then do it again year after year!

Life is full of disappointment and tragedy… But it is so much more fulfilling when our battles lead to greater joy! What is the power of visualization? It’s the power to see past what’s apparent, and understanding our true desires!
